Leo George Obituary

Mr. Leo Kermit George, 75, of 1100 Peach Orchard Lane, Brunswick, died Monday, Oct. 6, at Veterans Affairs Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was the husband of the late Roberta Mae Bauman George.

Born July 17, 1928, in Antioch, W.Va., he was a son of Bessie George Koontz of Baker, W.Va.

He was self-employed as a painting contractor for a number of years. He was a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, Burkittsville.

Surviving in addition to his mother are two sons, Michael Lee George and wife Michelle of Pryor, Okla., and Craig E. George and wife Valerie of Brunswick; five grandchildren, Nathaniel D. George, Jeremiah D. George, Caleb D. George, Lauren George and Ashley George; one brother, Oscar D. George Sr. of Bolivar, W.Va.; two half brothers, Willie Koontz and Malin Koontz, both of Moorefield, W.Va.; and two half sisters, Bonnie Hartman and Dora Lee Wratchford, both of Moorefield.

He also will be remembered by Millie Sykes of Brunswick.

He was preceded in death by his half brother, Caleb Koontz.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St. Middletown.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Pleasant View Church of the Brethren in Burkittsville. The Rev. Tim May will officiate. There also will be a viewing one hour prior to the church service.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.
