Maurice Glacken Obituary

Mr. Maurice Lee Glacken, 65, of Kelly Store Road, Thurmont, died Monday, Nov. 20, at his home, following a long illness.

He was the husband of Lillie Mae Glacken.

Born June 8, 1935, in Cedarhurst, he was a son of the late James M. and Carrie Mae Lookingbill Glacken.

Mr. Glacken was a retired construction worker.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era. He was a member of Thurmont American Legion Post 168.

Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Gary Lee Glacken and John William Glacken, both of Junction City, Kan.; stepchildren, Charles Reed of Taneytown, Monty Reed of Melrose, Shirley McKinney and Lynn Walsh, both of Thurmont, and Ann O'Brien of Florida; five brothers, James Glacken of Taneytown, Charles Glacken of Manchester, George Glacken of Westminster, Leroy Glacken of Union Bridge, and Paul Glacken of New Oxford, Pa.; two sisters, Ruth Glacken Martin of Union Bridge, and Margaret Zepp of Westminster; 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Krenzer; and two sisters, Helen Glacken Pletzer and Mary Glacken Smith.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at Skiles Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at the funeral home. The Rev. M. David Reynolds will officiate.

Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, Md. 21705.
