Murray Faupel Obituary
Pre-Deceased by beloved wife, Dorothy Jean (nee Haugh), father, George H. Faupel and mother, Florence Elsie (nee Murray) Faupel, brother, George H. Faupel, Jr., and sister, Sophia Doris(Fauptel) Knowles. Devoted father of Elizabeth (Roger) Greenbank and Janet Wheat and loving grandfather of Mark (Tara) Greenbank, Brooke (Nicholas) Goins, Colleen Wheat and Andrew Wheat and great-grandfather of William Goins. Also survived by sister-in-law, Martha (Haugh) Jensen and many nieces and nephews. Born in Frederick, Maryland he was a graduate of Frederick High School and Bridgewater College in Virginia where he excelled in track and field sports competitions. A teaching career was interrupted by World War II when he enlisted and served in the European Theater with the U.S. Army in the Maryland 29th Infantry Division, 115th Regiment as a Staff Sergeant. After the war he devoted his life to education and raising his family in Baltimore, Md. He was a resident of Forwood Manor in Wilmington, De during his last years where he enjoyed meeting and making many friends. A service on Thursday July 7, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Chapel, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick, MD 21701 where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. To send condolences visit: www.mccreryandharra.com

Murray was such a kind man and a caring friend to our mother/grandmother, Lillian. We will fondly remember his thoughtful notes and cards and his infectious laugh. We mourn his passing.

Murray Faupel was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. God blessed me by placing him in my life during my years of employment at Forwood Manor. I will forever be a better person for having had his influence in my life.
May God bless, comfort and console every person who knew and loved him.
Rest in peace dear friend - and - enjoy your Heavenly reunion with your loved ones who have gone there before you.
