Noel Williams

Noel David Williams, 80, of Brunswick, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 1, 2007, at his home after spending a pleasant afternoon with his family. He was the husband of Loraine Snoots Williams.

Born January 2, 1927, in Brunswick, he was the son of the late William and Bettie Williams.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 during World War II and participated in the invasion of Normandy.

Noel was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church. He retired from the CXS Railroad in 1990 after 40 plus years with the railroad. He was also a member of the American Legion in Brunswick.

In addition to his loving wife Loraine, he is survived by five sons, William Williams and wife Patricia of Brunswick, David Williams and wife Jennifer of Charles Town, W.Va., Clay Williams and wife Breena of Brunswick, Andrew Williams and wife Mary Anne of Keedysville, Noel Williams and wife Laura of Walkersville; 12 grandchildren; Kim Estep, Chad Athey, Aaron Winters, Brad Williams, Zachary Williams, Frank Williams, Rusty Williams, Chelsea Williams, Casey Williams, Kayla Williams, Hunter Williams and Colby Williams; two sisters, Anna Randlett of Kinsington and Betty Sapp of Fairfield, Pa. He will also be remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews and all of his special friends.

He is preceded in death by his four brothers, Hershel Williams, Donald Williams, Beachley Williams and William Williams and his three sisters, Ora Williams, Dorothy Ayers and Jane Hedges.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Jordan officiating.

Interment will be in Lovettsville Union Cemetery.
