Philip Ryave Obituary

Mr. Philip David Ryave, 58, of 850 Geronimo Drive, Frederick, died Sunday, Jan. 21, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Joan Hazlick Ryave. They were married for 32 years.

Born April 21, 1942, in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was the son of the late Leo Ryave and Gertrude Keebler Ryave Hale.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Navy.

He retired as a computer engineer with Computer Data and Affiliated Computer Services.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Frederick.

He was a long-time member of Knights of Columbus in College Park, and John R. Webb Post 3285 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Frederick.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Leo Scott Ryave and wife Tammy of Denver, Pa., and Michael P. Ryave of Fort Sill, Okla.; one daughter, Evonne Smith and husband William of Hanover, Pa.; one sister, Katherine V. Meyer and husband Jack J. of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren, Todd Snapp, Marcus Ryave and Nikolas Ryave; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Frederick. The Rev. Wayne G. Funk, pastor of the church, will be celebrant.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to National Parkinson Foundation Inc., Development Department, in care of Marc Lichtman of Lois Heffernan, 1501 N.W. 9th Ave., Miami, Fla. 33136-1494.
