In 1992 I met Rick through a mutual friend. If I recall correctly he had a bronze/brown Chevrolet then. Man - he used to "zip" thru the city "darling" anyone to get in his way. He was an authentic/genuine person who was passionate about the things he believed in. I moved away from DC and had not seen him in years. I just thought of him and googled his name and ... He will be missed.

Rick Mangus when am I best friends we knew each other for almost thirty-four years. We would crack each other up almost every day. He was such a politician but a sweet person. He loved my parents and would talk to my siblings about his life as a police officer because my brother was one. I would hire him for my jobs and we had just great times. We would call each other 5 - 8 times a day just to check in and tell each other the latest funny thing that happened. I'm going to miss you Rick.

Rick,
ALWAYS ready to protest, write a complaint, phone a politician, or send an angry email. A rare gem of a person who would tell you what he truly was thinking. He loved animals and would often dog watch my dog "Shorty", Rick was one of the few people he would not bite. He enjoyed good food, drinks, and conversation with friends. I will miss you and our political debates. Rest in peace dear friend.
