Ronald Hardy Obituary

Mr. Ronald Lee Hardy, 64, of 3916 South Mountain Road, Knoxville, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004 at the Veterans Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born April 5, 1940 in Frederick, Md., he was the son of the late George C. Hardy, Sr. and Minnie Spriggs Hardy.

He was employed with Frederick County at Medical Transportation Unit and Frederick County Detention Center. He was a member of the Steadman-Keenan Post No. 96 of the American Legion at Brunswick. He was a 1958 graduate of Lincoln High School at Frederick. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U. S. Air Force.

He is survived by three daughters, Michelle R. Jackson of Sedalia, Mo., Rhonda L. Hardy of Kansas City, Mo., and Dana E. Hardy-Loveless of Cleveland, Ohio; one son, Antonio Jermaine Hardy of San Juan, Calif.; five sisters, Joan M. Morris of Ocean City, N.J., Doris H. Savoy of Washington, D.C., Sandra E. Hardy of Washington, D.C., Kaye C. Coates of Brunswick, and Dolores L. King of Brunswick; one brother, George C. Hardy, Jr. of Roanoke, Va.; three grandchildren, Derek Jackson of Sedalia, Mo., Diamond Hardy-Loveless of Cleveland, Ohio and Jaydon Hardy of San Juan, Calif.; special friend, Paul Smothers of Knoxville, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia B. Hannah.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 23, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer A.H.E. Church, 720 N. Maple Avenue, Brunswick. The Rev. Hedy L. Drummond will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. The family will receive friends at the John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
