Ruth Larsen Obituary
Born Feb. 25, 1933 in Mt. Carmel, PA, she was the daughter of the late John B. Mannion and Ethel Tasker Mannion.
She is survived by her sons, Mark G. Larsen and Eric John Larsen, both of Thurmont; grandchildren, Evan Larsen, Anna Larsen Springer (Ryan) and Ethan Larsen; great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Aurora Larsen, Noah and Kylie Springer; brother, William Mannion (Louise); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by siblings, John Mannion and Rosemary Yodzis.
Ruth was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Libertytown since 1993 and was active with the Frederick Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for several years.
She was formerly employed with C&P Telephone Co. (now Verizon) for 35 years in their accounting department.
Ruth enjoyed knitting, reading, puzzles, traveling and was an avid Washington Redskins fan.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Libertytown. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to service time in the church. Inurnment will follow the service in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church, 9190 Church Street, Union Bridge, MD 21791 or to a charity of choice.
Arrangements are through Hartzler Funeral Home, Libertytown.

The Lord said, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.
You were the example that we all desire to be. Your love of your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was amazing. Your actions have left a lasting impression on everyone you knew. Rest in peace dear Ruth. I will never forget you, your kindness and willingness to be there for others. I love you.

I saw this photo, and had to write something. This picture captures a lady who lived many years beyond the date of this youthful photo. I see so much in her eyes, and I know she was beloved and will be missed by all who enjoyed her presense in their lives.
