Samuel Jones Obituary
Born on March 12, 1939, in Knoxville, MD, he was the son of the late Everett and Mary (Meehan) Jones.
Sam proudly served in the Army, where he was stationed in Germany, an experience he cherished throughout his life. After his military service, he found a fulfilling career as a press operator for Tuscarora Plastics, contributing his skills and diligence to the company. In his younger days, Sam enjoyed fishing and eagerly awaited the arrival of spring each year so he could indulge in mushroom hunting. He also cultivated a love for cooking, often immersing himself in recipe books to explore new culinary delights. His appreciation for life's simple joys reflected in every activity he undertook.
Sam is survived by his beloved daughters, Brenda Smith and her husband Charles, and Sandra Dentinger and her husband Mark. He took great pride in his grandchildren, Robert Smith, Courtney Prygocki and her husband Nicholas, and Dustin Dentinger, as well as his great-granddaughters, Kaylynn and Madison Prygocki. A constant companion, Peanut, his loyal feline friend, brought him much joy.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: John, Mildred, Elsie, Ruth, and William.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Brunswick), 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick, MD where a celebration of Samuel's life journey will take place at 12 pm. Rev. Tim May will officiate. Interment will be at the Old Brownsville Heights Cemetery in Brownsville, MD.
