Sandra Peers

1944 - 2025

On September 30, 2025, God took Sandy from her family to teach new angels how to love, at the age of 81. Born in September 1944, in Washington, D.C., Sandy lived a vibrant and devoted life filled with love for her family and an enduring spirit of joy and generosity.

A proud graduate of Bladensburg High School's class of 1962, Sandy later pursued additional coursework at Frederick Community College following the loss of her first husband, to cancer after ten years of marriage.

Sandy began her career with the U.S. Department of the Treasury before moving on to work for the U.S. Air Force. Later in life, she found fulfilment as a tour guide at Rose Hill Manor and the Barbara Fritchie Museum. She also worked at a small craft shop where she sold her handmade creations. Yet among all these endeavors, Sandy considered her most important role to be that of a mother-a title she wore with pride and boundless love.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Robert J. Peers; her children Tracy L. Clark, Joseph A. Clark, Robert J. Peers Jr., Kelly A. Wheeler (Scott), Paula J. Baldwin (Mike) and Danielle L. Baker (Todd); and by her 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren whose lives were enriched by her warmth and presence.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Myron Russell and Imogene Von Cumerlato; her grandmother Willa Ann Dean; her first husband Bruce P. Clark; her daughter-in-law Deb Peers and her grandson Ben Posey.

Her life was marked by an infectious enthusiasm for family gatherings and simple pleasures. She delighted in attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events-always their biggest cheerleader-and took great joy in preparing special meals that brought everyone together around the table. Holidays were especially meaningful to Sandy; she poured heart and soul into decorating every corner of the home to create magical memories for those she loved.

An avid bowler in earlier years, Sandy also enjoyed music of all kinds, scratch-off lottery tickets for a bit of fun excitement, gardening, yard sales, antique shopping, and cheering on the Washington Redskins and Nationals.

Those who knew Sandy will remember a woman full of life-active, loving, nurturing, caring-with a heart of gold that touched everyone around her. Her laughter was contagious, her energy uplifting, and her devotion to family unmatched.

The family will have a visitation on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Homes in Frederick, Maryland. A service will be held the following day on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church located at 5463 Jefferson Pike, Feagaville, Maryland 21703. Burial will follow at the St. Luke's Cemetery.
