Sharon Keeney Obituary

Sharon Lynn Keeney, aged 69, passed away on September 28th 2025, in Lexington South Carolina. Sharon was born on June 28,1956, in Olney Maryland to Frank and Louise West.

She was a proud graduate of Gaithersburg High School. She married her first husband Sherman Rice and had one son, Jason Rice. Sharon had a fulfilling career in the hospitality industry as a supervisor and later became a home health aide for Visiting Angels. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Sharon touched the lives of many with her warmth, as well as caring and giving nature. She adored her son Jason and family with all her heart. She loved a good cup of coffee, crisp autumn day, hummingbirds, chatting with her sisters and friends, talking with her grandsons and her bird, Layla. Sharon was a member of the Richburg SC Baptist Church and was recently baptized again.

She was preceded in death by her father Frank J West, Mother Louise Moore, Brother Joey West and Brother Larry West.

Sharon is survived by her Son Jason Rice and His Wife Nina, grandsons Brandyn and Ryan Rice, sisters Donna Belcher and Family and Pat Lashmit and Family as well as her Cousins, Gary and Jenny. Sharon will always be remembered for her sweet spirit, always willing to help those that she could. She will be missed deeply but will never be forgotten.

Graveside services will be held on Oct. 25th 11am at Clustered Spires Cemetery, 400 Linden Ave, Frederick, MD (behind the Red Horse). Sharon Keeney
