Shirley Lantz Obituary
Born on February 23, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Roger and Catherine Foland.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Lantz, sons David Lantz Sr. & Ivan W Lantz Sr; five brothers; two sisters; three great-grandchildren.
Shirley was a beautiful person who loved life and lived for her family. She enjoyed family vacations and holidays, especially Christmas. Shirley devoted her life to caring for everyone. She was a long-time member of Lewistown United Methodist Church and will be fondly remembered by many special friends and family members.
Shirley is survived by her children; Robin Keeny, Patty Clem, James "Bobby" Lantz (Missy), Teresa Thomas (Dan); brother Richard Foland (Jane); sister Phyllis Gue and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on FRIDAY September 11, 2020 at 12 PM at BLACK's Funeral Home: 224 N. Church St. Suite B Thurmont, MD 21788 with Pastor Caitlin Mossburg officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Shirley's care has been entrusted to Black's Funeral Home

To the Lantz family,
Mom Lantz will be missed greatly, she is the kindest, sweetest , soul who touched Many lives... including mine. She helped nurture our ( david Sr + mine) children into adulthood. Her love for family was strong. And Christmas, christmas was when she was in her element... everyroom in the house was transformed... something her and my Mom had in common... into her love of christmas Snowman her favorite ❤. My comfort is that she is Home.. smiling the biggest grin, with her family that passed on before her, by her side.

To all the lantz family I am so sorry about nannys passing! I had the pleasure of knowing her and am blessed that she was nanny not only to everyone around her but to my children Tyler and abbi! Some of my most greatest memories of my life were thanksgiving christmas there . She was cooking and baking the entire day and welcomed you in her home no matter what ! She also helped take care of my son when my mother was passing and im not sure if i gave her the proper thank you for that ! To Bobby Terry Robin Patty and the entire lantz family . My upmost love and condolences to you! God bless and may she rest in enternal peace!

One of the greatest best aunts ever always welcomed me from NC to her home and always offering food love this lady I may not have lived near her but I do know she was a woman of God and a great mother RIP Aunt Shirley you will be missed you have raised a family that has loved u and will carry on your sweet spirit

Oh my,what a special person,,she had a way to make you feel so welcome when you were at her house,I never seen her cross & she always made you feel special . My wife & i made her our adopted mother,since ours had passed away.she accepted, we spent a lot of our years doing all sorts of fun things,camping, travel,and holidays together.i was fascinated when I saw her laughing in the TV room on a Saturday nite,& discovered she she liked Saturday nite live. So cool,a few years ago we started going to the Utica picnic, & last year we were blessed with two of her children robin& David who joined us.i called her nanny.poo & we will miss her so much,& to all the family ,we send our love& condolences.
