Mr. Terry Lane Kerns of Waynesboro, PA left this world unexpectedly after 46 years full of life, love, laughter and music on January 7, 2016. He was the cherished husband of Lisa Luzier Kerns and the devoted father of Dylan Kerns, Thurmont, MD and Avis and Ashton residing at home. He was the son of Patricia Kerns Nelson and step son of Keith Nelson, Waynesboro, PA and the late Armon Eugene Kerns. He was the grandson of Betty Ramsburg and the late Ralph Ramsburg of Lewistown, MD. Terry is also survived by his half-brother, Mathew Kerns and wife Amanda, Williamsport, Ohio, half-sister Jamie Kerns Forney and husband Bryan, Thurmont, MD, Aunt Roberta Harner, Waynesboro, PA, cousin Rachael Hess and husband Steve, Thurmont, MD and was preceded in death by cousin Rusty Garber, Emmitsburg, MD. He also leaves behind his in-laws Bill and Bea Luzier, Frederick, MD and, brother-in-law Larry Luzier, Pittsburg, PA. He will be deeply missed by close friend Wayne Peiffer, Waynesboro, PA and the many - many musicians and friends throughout the region.

Throughout his life he was devoted to his family, friends, and music. Terry played in numerous local bands over the last 30 years to include rock, heavy metal and most recently, country. Terry had the rare opportunity to live his dream, if only briefly, by owning Rocket Guitars. He especially enjoyed mentoring the young would be musicians who visited the store. He always had a smile and greeted everyone. Terry was always available to fill in for any band in need. Terry genuinely loved people and would be the first to offer help to anyone. If you met Terry you automatically loved his smile, and sense of humor – quite a personality; but a heart that giving can only last so long.

Visitation with the family will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont, Maryland, between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m Monday, January 11 in the funeral home chapel. Please dress casual and come as you are. A Memorial Celebration of Terry's amazing life will be announced at the service...

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Terry's memory may be sent to Patricia Nelson, 12004 Windmere Circle, Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Terry, Terry, Terry. What can I say. I know it is May but I just found out you went on to Heaven. You always made me laugh, out loud, which was a task in itself. Condolences to your family.
