Walter Meuse Obituary

Walter Edward Meuse Jr., age 86, of Frederick, died Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Frederick Health Hospital after a brief illness. Born January 25, 1939 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Walter E. Meuse Sr. and Dorothy Meuse. He was the husband of the late Margaret E. Meuse who died in 2024.

Walter was employed for 35 years with PEPCO in Dickerson prior to his retirement in 1995. He was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Walkersville and also attended St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Libertytown, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. In earlier years he volunteered with St. Peter's Food Pantry, the New Market Volunteer Fire Co., Mt. Pleasant Ruritan Club and had enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

Surviving are sons, James Meuse and David Meuse and wife Michele; 3 grandchildren, Christopher and Nicholas Meuse and Morgan Albright and great grandchildren, Iris Wittig and Juniper Albright. He was predeceased by a son, Walter "Eddie" Meuse III.

The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home-Libertytown, 11802 Liberty Rd., Frederick, at a later date which will be announced.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church (for the food pantry), 9190 Church St., Union Bridge, MD 21791 (check should be written to church with Food Pantry on memo line).
