Wendy McLaughlin Obituary

Wendy Ruth (Hays) McLaughlin, 53 of Myersville, MD passed away suddenly on September 2, 2011.

She was born February 3, 1958 in Goshen, NY, the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Hackney) Hays.

Throughout her life, Wendy resided in New York, New Jersey and Maryland. She hails from Glassboro High School, NJ, class of 1976. She graduated from Vineland Academy of Beauty, NJ and took classes at Frederick Community College, MD. She had diverse interests, but she was most passionate about taking care of infants, children, elderly and her loved ones. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening and loved surrounding herself with family and friends.

Surviving Wendy are her husband, Michael Edward McLaughlin, Myersville; her daughter, Erin Brook McLaughlin, Miami, FL; her grandson, Noah Michael McLaughlin, Myersville; her five siblings, Terrence Hays, Leadville, CO; Cynthia (Hays) Scharnagl and Nancy (Hays) Cope, both of Newfield, NJ; Kevin Hays, Pitman, NJ and Karen (Hays) Canonica, Williamstown, NJ; her parents-in-law, Edward and Nancy McLaughlin, Franklinville, NJ and many of her extended family, including nieces and nephews.

Wendy was preceded in death by her son, Jason Michael McLaughlin in 2008.

Funeral services will be held at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main Street, Myersville, MD 21773 beginning at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2011. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Michael and Noah McLaughlin, Terrence and Kevin Hays, Rocco Canonica and Thomas James Cope.
