Alexander "Alex" Osleger, 82, of Spotsylvania, Virginia passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, September 10, 2018. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Alex was born August 1, 1936 in Pennsylvania. He grew up in the steel town of Donora outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Alex was a gifted athlete throughout his high school and college years participating in football, basketball, and tennis. He attended California University of Pennsylvania. Alex was a gregarious cigar smoking larger than life man who touched the lives of many. He was a leader in the Home Building Industry for over 50 years. He worked closely with the Ryan family to assist in the development of Ryan Homes in the Pittsburgh area. He also contributed to the home building profession with Maronda Homes, ARCO, Fairfield Homes, Miller and Smith Homes, and Aaronal Homes. Alex was a very proud member of the Pittsburgh Steeler Nation. He often was seen wearing his Steeler cap, sweatshirt, and jacket to support his team. He enjoyed jawing with his friends who were Ravens, Eagles, or Browns fans about his Steeler team. Survivors include his wife, Constance B. Osleger; children Alex Osleger and wife Jill of Carmel, Indiana, Jennifer Osleger Capozza and husband Randy of Spotsylvania, and Aaron "Hank" Osleger and wife Daphne of Stafford; grandchildren Samantha Osleger, Heather Osleger, Alexander Osleger, Alexis Osleger, Zachary Capozza, Gregory Capozza, Matthew Capozza, Madison Osleger, Lexi Osleger, and Luke Osleger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Margaret Osleger. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at St. Matthew Church in Spotsylvania, Virginia on October 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Expressions of sympathy may include donations to Spotsylvania County Fire and EMS, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund.
