Anthony Macri Obituary
September 19, 1938 - April 30, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony "Tony" Raymond Macri on April 30, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, to Antonio and Lucrezia (Grispo) Macri, Tony lived a life marked by devotion to family, service to country, and dedication to career and community.
Tony passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and holding the hand of his beloved wife of 64 years, Janet (Hutchinson) Macri. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Tony proudly served in the United States Marine Corps before earning his bachelor's degree in marketing from Drake University. He went on to dedicate over 35 years to Parker Amchem Henkel Corporation, where he served as National Sales Manager. His leadership, integrity, and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. His career took Tony and Jan to several homes across the country Des Moines, IA; Naperville, IL; Ambler, PA; and Troy, MI before settling in Virginia.
In August 2001, Tony and Jan retired to the Fawn Lake community in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he embraced a slower pace and the pleasures of retired life. He found joy in the peaceful view from his back porch overlooking the 8th hole, golfing and playing poker with friends, cruising around the lake, enjoying breakfast with "the guys," and gathering with neighbors who became like family. His warmth, humor, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tony is survived by his loving wife Janet; daughters Diane (Sean) Mahoney and Kelli (Chris) Brenner; grandchildren Christopher (CJ) and Emily Brenner, and Allison and Rachel Mahoney; his special niece, Claire Crnic; and many other beloved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 9149 Elys Ford Road, Spotsylvania, VA.

Tony was a very active member of "The Fawn Lake ROMEOS" (Retired Olde Men Eating Out). I had the great pleasure of sharing weekly breakfast with Tony for 7 years! He was a fine friend and neighbor to all. His passing was unexpected and his seat at our table is forever filled with fun, fond memories. With love... DJ Gerry Bradshaw
