Blanton Strother Obituary

Blanton Strother

Carroll Blanton Strother, 80, of Fredericksburg died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and the widower of Margaret Ellen Strother. He was a retired sheet metal worker.

Survivors include two daughters, Judith "Judy" Flack and her husband, Henry, of Stafford, and Brenda C. Elliott and her husband, Francis, of Spotsylvania; a sister, Evelin Madison of Stafford; seven grandchildren, Stuart Saunders Jr., Jeffrey Saunders, Kim Flack, Pam Cornell, Crystal Cooper, Wendi Newton and Margaret Hackney; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with Pastor Douglas Milliner officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
