Carol Newman Obituary
January 10, 1938 - June 28, 2024
Carol Grace Newman (née Smith) of Spotsylvania County passed away in Dallas TX, Friday June 28th 2024 at 86 years of age, in the presence of loved ones.
Carol was born January 10, 1938 in the Bethnal Green neighborhood of London England, during WWII.
She married William (Bill) E. Newman, USAF, in 1956 and remained married to him for over 60 years, becoming a permanent resident of the United States of America during that time. She was a Christian, a mother, grandmother, and a great grandmother. Carol was a member of Massaponax Baptist Church in Spotsylvania VA until she moved to Dallas, TX 10 years ago and began attending Prestonwood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Mark Newman, of Irving, TX., his daughter Ashley Newman Charette of Arizona. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Nolan and Corbin Charette of Arizona.; her daughter, Melody Newman Seay and Buck Seay, of Spotsylvania County; their four grandchildren, Wilson, Thomas, and Austen Seay of Spotsylvania County, Ashley Newman Charette of Arizona. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Nolan and Corbin Charette of Arizona.
The family will hold a ceremony at 1 p.m., Friday September 20, 2024 at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Rd. Triangle VA 22172. The Reverend David Hockney Jr. of River Club Church will preside over the service, with interment following the service.
Afterwards, a private gathering of family and friends will celebrate her life at Tuns Tavern, Quantico National Museum, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The address is 18900 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Triangle, VA 22172.
