Constance "Connie" C. Chapin

Constance "Connie" C. Chapin, 92, of Lake of the Woods, VA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

She was the third of twelve children of John B. and Mildred Courson, and was born and raised in Rocky Grove, PA. She married George, the love of her life and high school sweetheart, in July 1952. Connie was primarily an extraordinary homemaker, really special wife, and a dedicated mother and grandmother.

Her children, Steve (deceased), Dave (deceased), and Linda, loved and appreciated her with all their hearts. She was a loving Grandma to her two granddaughters, Miranda and Liz. They were the apples of her eyes. She was also a special aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews. Many of their friends, who were fortunate enough to know her, always called her "Aunt Connie."

In her earlier years, she was employed as a telephone operator in Franklin, PA. She was retired from the Office of the Architect of the Capitol of the United States.

Connie's family wants to express their gratitude to the staff at Dogwood Village of Orange County for their loving and compassionate care over the last two years as her dementia progressed.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Lake of the Woods Church in Locust Grove, VA, with a reception to follow at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 31 at Fairfax Memorial Park.
