Cornelia D. Oliver
Cornelia Davidson "Neal" Oliver, 81, of Fredericksburg died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at her home.
She was a distinguished professor emerita of art at the University of Mary Washington. Mrs. Oliver graduated from Smith College in Massachusetts. She received her Master of Arts degree from Duke University and her Ph.D. from Catholic University in Washington, D.C.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, George B. Oliver; two daughters and their husbands, Byrd and Jack Wood of Baltimore, Md., and Mary and Steve Fromyer of Silver Spring, Md.; one sister, Elizabeth Davidson of Vassalboro, Maine; one brother and his wife, Dr. and Mrs. Frank Davidson of Needham, Mass.; and four grandchildren, Lucy Fromyer, Philip Fromyer, Nicholas Wood and Patrick Wood; and her mother-in-law, Lucy Oliver of Richmond.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at the Presbyterian Church in Fredericksburg, with a reception to be held there immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mary Washington Hospice, 5012 Southpoint Parkway, Fredericksburg, Va. 22407, or to the Presbyterian Church, 810 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.
