January 14, 1964 - March 6, 2025
Doris Marie Madison of Fredericksburg, 61 passed away at home on March 6, 2025, after a brief battle with lung cancer. She was endearingly cared for by family during this process. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Bryant L. Madison Sr., daughter, Kimberly D. Grayson, and son, Bryant L. Madison Jr. Doris is survived by her mother Betty Barlow, brother Thomas Dodd Jr. (Debbie Dodd), Sister Norma Madison, Brother Michael Barlow, daughter-in-law Karen Madison, grandchildren, Skylar Simpson, Kelsey Simpson, Bryant L. Madison III, Shelby Simpson, Baylee Grayson, Zoe Madison, Dakota Grayson, and Elizabeth Madison, and numerous extended family members. Doris was an extremely loving and caring person and was in the nursing role for many of those that have previously passed on. Although she was a strongly opinionated person and would always let you know how she felt. She always put others' needs ahead of her own. She had a strong love of Elvis, and music of all types, she said she could feel the beat in her bones and could often be found dancing the night away in her younger years. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Alum Spring Park from 3 p.m. 7 p.m.

I worked with Doris years ago at Poets Walk. We became instant friends. Doris had such a sweet and loving soul. She always had a kind word for everyone. She always made sure the employees ate. There were numerous times she would make me and others a plate without even asking for one. Even long after I quit Poets Walk we stayed in touch via Facebook for awhile. I noticed that her posts became less and less but I always had her in my thoughts. The world lost a beautiful soul but heaven received a beautiful angel. R.I.P. Doris and may you always soar high!
