Evelyn Mae (Ryder) Waybright, age 76, of Franklin, W.V. passed away, Monday, November 4, 2024 at her residence.
She was born May 16, 1948 in Spotsylvania, Va., a daughter of the late Ernest and Gussie (Leake) Ryder.
Prior to retirement, Evelyn had been a successful entrepreneur and franchisee of multiple 7-Eleven locations. Additionally, she held membership with the Fraternal Order of Eagles and faithfully supported March of Dimes. In retirement Evelyn found joy in playing slot machines, working on puzzles, creating beautiful pieces through needlework and enjoyed her snacks. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving is her husband of twenty-six years, Michael Waybright Sr. of Franklin; children, Tammy Simmons and husband, Butch and Nancy Foley and husband, Michael, John Reid Sr. and wife, Tammy and Conway Reid and wife, Kim, all of Spotsylvania, Va.; step-sons, Michael Waybright Jr. of Luray, Va., Eric Waybright and fiancée, Wendie Eppard of Shenandoah, Va. and Adam Waybright of Edinburg, Va.; brothers, David and Glenn Ryder of Spotsylvania; grandchildren, Wesley, Toni, C.J., Jamie, Loren, Drew, Regan, Lanie, Trent and Emmerson; as well as great-grandchildren, Marlee, Wyatt, Madi, Tucker, Hazel, Audrey, Ty, Libby, Charlie, Tate and Harry.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband of thirty-two years, James M. Reid; a grandson, James Trevor Reid; and siblings, Phyllis Wheeler, Joyce Payne, Mary Loving, Dorothy Leake, Clifton Ryder, Arthur Ryder and Rebecca Riley.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2024 at Temple Baptist Church, Fredericksburg, with pastor Michael Reid officiating. Family will receive friends following the service during a meal of fellowship. Additionally, a graveside service will be held 12 noon, Saturday, November 9, 2024 in Blue Grass Cemetery, also with Pastor Michael Reid officiating.
In addition to Evelyn's grandson, pallbearers will be Scott Sale and Anthony Bowie.

I worked for Evelyn (Sissy) for years at 7-11. She was an outstanding boss and a pleasure to work for. Condolences to her family.
