George N. Flack
George Nelson Flack, 83, of Stafford County died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Flack was born Dec. 2, 1926, in Vancouver, Wash., to the late Henry A. Flack Sr. and Floy Cornwell Flack Aubertin.
He was a U.S. Navy, World War II and Korean War veteran and later retired as a drill operator from Vulcan Materials Inc. Mr. Flack was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hartwood.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Barbara Carrington Flack; four children, Sharon F. Brooks of Stafford, M. Deen Flack of Bedford, and Cora J. Austin and Linwood L. Flack, both of Spotsylvania County; 10 grandchildren, Dakota Brooks, Sandy Weaver, Paul Eldert, Mike Eldert Jr., Kevin Eldert, Bob Gay Jr., Christopher Austin, Bobbie Jean Austin, Danielle Austin, and Brandon Flack; four great-grandchildren, Raymond Austin, Blake Groff, Ryan Austin and Kaleb Weaver; three sisters, Wanda Nelson and Neva French, both of Oregon, and Betty Alzamora of King George County; and four sisters-in-law, Helen Flack of Stafford, Judy Flack of Spotsylvania, Janice Cook of Locust Grove and Paula Faggart of Concord, N.C. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Keith Flack and Henry A. Flack Jr.; and three sisters, Jean Richardson, Patricia Flack and Joanne White.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at Grace United Methodist Church cemetery in Hartwood. Pallbearers will be Brandon Flack, Dakota Brooks, Dale Flack, Christopher Austin, David Cris mond and Paul Elder. Bobby Austin and Terry Angel Alzamora will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church Building Fund, 13056 Elk Ridge Road, Hartwood, Va. 22406.
