James Behanna Obituary

James Behanna

James Knox Behanna, 69, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at Tidelands Hospice in Myrtle Beach, following an illness.

Mr. Behanna was born in Alexandria, son of the late James Knox and Ursula Behanna. Mr. Behanna was a member of Glenns Bay Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, and was also the Sunday school teacher of the Joy Class. He was a member of the NRA and SAAMI.

Mr. Behanna was predeceased by a brother, Orie Turner. Mr. Behanna retired from the FBI as the manager/ program director at the FBI Academy in Quantico.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine Behanna, of Myrtle Beach; son James Knox Behanna III of Virginia; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacqueline and Jillian; two brothers, Harry Turner of Myrtle Beach and John Behanna of Tampa, Fla; five nephews, John and James Behanna, and Bruce, Carl and Richard Turner; and three nieces, Brenda Ziemann, Sharon Shemeld and Charlotte Middleton.

A funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, with the Rev. Bob Teems officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 21, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
