Jimmy Asimacopoulos

Dimostenes "Jimmy" Asimacopoulos, 59, of Spotsylvania County departed this life Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at his home.

He was born March 24, 1948, in Greece to the late Vaseles and Amelia Asimacopoulos. He moved to the United States in 1967, making his home in Spotsylvania. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed growing his own garden every year. His greatest joy was to spend time with his family and friends as much as possible.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angela; three sons, Dr. Bill Asimacopoulos and his wife, Michelle, and Jimmy Asimacopoulos and his wife, Crystal, all of Spotsylvania, and Yanni Asimacopoulos of the home; two daughters, Mildred Childress and her husband, Joseph, of Ohio, and Maria Asimacopoulos and her fiance, Todd Voshall, of Portsmouth; 11 grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, James, Stephanie, Owen, Alex, Derek, Alorah, Mark, Ethan and Reese; four great-grandchildren; four sisters and one brother in Greece; and numerous nieces and neph-ews.

The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Found & Sons Funeral Chapels, corner of Courthouse Road and Southpoint Parkway.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. at Nativity of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church with Father Pit Rexinis officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
