Lessie Foster Obituary

Lessie Elaine Worrell Foster, born on December 11, 1937, passed away on August 22, 2025. She was 87 years young.

In 1954, a love story began with a trip to find a preacher that would marry two 16 year olds in love. They finally found one in Maryland and had to speed home before momma and daddy found out. They made it just in time. In the years that followed, she became the proud mom to 3 children and Nannie to 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband Herbert Foster, son Steve Foster (Pam), daughters Darlene Wilkins (Barry), and Elaine Farmer (Emory). She is also survived by her grandchildren Dianna Leslie, Shannon Duncan, Joshua Wilkins, Ashley Shaffer, Rachel Hand and 6 great-grandchildren.

Her fiery wit, love and the memories she gave us all will be cherished by many.

Lessie was my Sunday School teacher at Mt View Baptist and she was the best. Lost contact with her but loved and missed her. My sympathy to her family. She was a great person.
