Oscar Fitts

1942 - 2025

Oscar Fitts passed away on October 1, 2025 at the age of 82. One of 19 children, he was preceded in death by his parents, John C L and Mildred Walker Fitts; his son, David Fitts; nine brothers; Arthur, James, Bernard, William, Raymond, Bobby, Joseph, John, and Seldon Fitts; and three sisters; Gladys, Bernice, and Shirley. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Hallie P. Fitts; daughter, Amy Ambrose (Joseph); granddaughter, Allison Barnette (Chase) three grandsons; Chris Ambrose (Sharon), Patrick Ambrose (Christina) and Jeffrey Ambrose; four sisters; Louise Gray (Roy), Alice Daulton (Wayne), Kathy Hinson (David), and Marjorie Emerson; two brothers; Wayne Fitts (Virginia) and Russell Fitts; one daughter in law, Kyle Fitts; two brothers in laws; Andrew Reynolds (Sandra) and Herbert Reynolds; and a host of nieces and nephews. He had a special bond with his son David, granddaughter, Allison and nephew, Patrick. They were his fishing and hunting buddies. He loved his daughter, Amy, as she was always there for him. He was also a lifelong member of Forest Hunt Club. He loved spending time and talking with his family and friends at holidays, dinners, and family reunions. He served in the Army for 24 years, retiring as a Master Sgt in 1986. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Saturday, October 18th, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Home, Marks-Bristow Chapel, Tappahannock. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 19th, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Champlain.
