Ronald Whetzel Obituary
Ronald Allen Whetzel, Sr. went to be with our Lord on the morning of March 6, 2022. He was at home with his loving wife, stepdaughter, and beloved dog, Brady. Ron was born on May 29, 1945 to the late Arthur B. Whetzel and Odie Whetzel.
Ron was a member of Stafford Crossing Community Church. He was also a devoted Deacon and member of Open Door Community Church. Ron served in the Army National Guard of Maryland for 18 years. His occupational pursuits included American University's Campus Security as Sergeant, self-employed with Vanguard Cleaning Services. He concluded his career path at Stafford County Schools. Ron was head custodian at both Gayle Middle and Falmouth Elementary Schools as well as the District's Custodial Trainer.
Ron enjoyed volunteering at Open Door Community Church. His passions were family, church, fishing, boating, NASCAR, helping students and staff at "his" schools, and his dog, Brady. Ron will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette; son Ronald A. Whetzel, Jr.; daughter-in-law Ruth Whetzel; grandson Ronald A. Whetzel, III; sister Thelma Peyton; stepson Colin Goodwin; step-daughter Erika Counts; step-son Taylor Plummer; six step-grandchildren Nathaniel, Abygail, Madison, Audri, Owen, and Colson; and step-great-granddaughter Emmalyn. He was preceded in death by his son, William A. Whetzel; and brother Arvil Whetzel.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. on April 16, 2022 at Stafford Crossing Community Church, 1420 Forbes St. Fredericksburg, Virginia 22405. People can visit with the family directly after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stafford Crossing Community Church.

I just read about Ron's passing. My love and prayers go out for rest and comfort and healing through and in Our Lord JESUS Christ. Ron was such a nice and good person to me when we worked together at Gayle. Love to all.
