Steven Heislup Obituary
Steven Martin "Stevie" Heislup, 53, of Spotsylvania, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022. He is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Stevie was born on November 16, 1968, in Alexandria, Virginia. He graduated from West Potomac High School in 1987. Stevie had been employed as a cashier for Giant and Safeway grocery stores in Alexandria for many years. The last four years he resided in Fredericksburg, he worked for Shoppers Food Warehouse in Stafford and then Weis on Spotsylvania Avenue in Fredericksburg. His co-workers and customers there knew him by "Roman" before he had to resign because of his cancer.
Stevie was an avid reader and loved music and British comedies. He was very funny and talented; he really missed his calling as a comedian. Stevie had a heart of gold and cared about everyone and would always reach out to help anyone, friend or stranger. He will be missed by all who loved him dearly.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy C. Heislup of Fredericksburg; father, Julian D. Heislup Jr. of Free Union, Va.; brother, Julian D. Heislup III of Fredericksburg; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Stevie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nina W. and Walter E. Martin; and paternal grandparents Cora L. and Julian D. Heislup Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
