Stuart Edward Payne
Stuart Edward Payne, 86, of Spotsylvania County died Monday, March 1, 2010, at his home.
Stuart was a member of the Montclair Tabernacle Church of God and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Born in Manassas to the late Edgar and Clara Payne, Stuart is survived by two sons, Stuart E. Payne Jr. and his wife, Elda, of Stafford County, and Larry T. Payne and his wife, Sheila, of Manassas; two daughters, Kathy G. Smith-Vanburen and her husband, Brent, of Tennessee, and Sharon A. Watson and her husband, Robert, of Spotsylvania; two sisters, Iris L. Cavanaugh and Shirley Orendoff and her husband, Richard, all of Manassas; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in- law. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Stuart was preceded in death by his first wife, Virgie ("Peachy"), his second wife, Caryll, and two daughters, Lynda Payne-Perry and Nancy Smallwood.
Stuart's family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday March 7, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels- Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.
A funeral celebrating Stuart's life will be held at noon Monday, March 8, at Montclair Tabernacle Church of God, 16120 Dumfries Road, Dumfries. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
