Vivian Ann Lacy, 68, of Spotsylvania County passed away Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at her home.
Vivian, nicknamed "Apple" by her oldest great-nephew, was unmarried and childless. Nonetheless, she leaves, in body or spirit, her children she felt she "carried to full-term in her heart" are her 16 nephews and nieces, Kevin and Lynda Lacy, Butch and Connie Hockaday, Scott and Wendy Mullins, Kris and Sherry Lacy, Daniel and Donna Hockaday, Amos and Tracie Hockaday, Dana and Andy Reynolds, and Shawn and Dana Hockaday; as well as her 10 great-nephews and nieces, Jesse Lacy, Jake Lacy, Savannah Lacy, Cassie Hockaday, Mitchell Hockaday, Jenna Mullins, Dylan Reynolds, and Hannah, Hunter, and Hugh Hockaday. In addition to her children, she is survived by her sisters, Mable Lacy, Beverly Hockaday and husband Louis, and Barbara Bankert; and sister-in-law Shirley Lacy. There are scores of cousins who Vivian was exceptionally close to and a few very dear friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Lacy and a great-nephew, Spencer Hockaday.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Christ Episcopal Church, Spotsylvania. Burial will follow in Confederate Cemetery.
Vivian would love memorials to children's health organizations that specialize in Tourette's, autism, or cancer. Please consider memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or StJude.org.
