Evelyn Walraven

WALRAVEN, Evelyn (CRETE), of Essexville, age 99 years, died Monday, February 15, 2010 in Brian's House with her family by her side. She was born March 2, 1910 to the late Richard and Stella (Langton) Maucotel in Bay City. Evelyn was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Essexville, the K of C Auxiliary, and the League of Catholic Women and Men. She is survived by two sons: Richard J. (Lila) Crete of Essexville, Larry A. (Marie) Crete of Essexville; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two stepsons: Eugene (Tina) Walraven of Bay City, Alex (Rose) Walraven; three stepdaughters: Barbara Walraven, Judith McLellan, Patricia Tarkowski all of Essexville; many step-grand-children; and her special cousin, Monica Buda. Besides her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband, Oscar Crete in 1966; her second husband, Ernie Walraven in 1985; her daughter, Geraldine Hellebuyck; her brother, Edward Maucotel; her sister, Eileen Christ; her stepsons: Jerry, Bill, and Ernie, Jr. "Buck" Walraven; her step-daughter, Jan Bennet; her step-grand-daughter, Lily Tarkowski; and step-grandson, Daniel Walraven. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church. Rev. Patrick C. O'Connor will preside and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. The Vigil Prayer Service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Trahan Chapel. Visiting hours with the family will be Wednesday from 2:00 until 8:30 p.m. in the W. A.
