William Westerman Obituary

William R. Westerman

Capt. William R. "Westy" Westerman, 74, a retired U.S. Navy pilot, who served our country in the USN for 30 years, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010 in Fredericksburg.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Anne; his two sons, David and his wife, Michelle, of York, Pa., and Scott of Portland, Ore.; six grandchildren, Cory, Leah, Brennan, Raiden, Hannah and Maggie; his brother, Jim, and wife Mary Ann of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and a host of many good friends and family.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Johnson Funeral Home, 31440 Constitution Highway, Locust Grove. A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at The Lake of the Woods Church, with the Rev. Tom Schafer officiating.

A second funeral service will be held at the Old Fort Myer Chapel at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011. Burial will follow in Arlington National Cemetery, with full honors.
