Allen Petsch Obituary

Allen James Petsch, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at his home, at the age of 57 years.

Allen was born May 23, 1965 in Fredericksburg, TX to James and Joyleen Birck Petsch.

Allen worked for Kerrville Telephone Company / Valor Communications / Windstream Communications for 35 years. Allen loved life. In his spare time, he loved to rope, barbecue, spend time on the family ranch, make sausage, play pinochle and hunt. He was well-known for his barbecue skills which he developed a love for working with his dad at various events. He continued to utilize this talent for local community, church and family events. Allen especially loved cooking a feast opening weekend of hunting season with family and friends. He was an excellent dancer and enjoyed taking a spin on the dance floor.

Allen was passionate about team roping. He won many awards at events throughout the state of Texas. His last roping event was at the 2022 Stonewall Peach Jamboree. A highlight of his rodeo career was roping in Las Vegas at the World Series of Team Roping in 2016. His rodeo friends were his extended family.

Along with his wife, he leaves behind many loved ones who will miss him terribly. A special thank you to Dr. Singh and Texas Oncology staff, Dr. Speck with Gillespie County Urology, MD Anderson staff, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, and Allen's own guardian angel, Denise Hawkins.
