True was born March 5, 1947, in Corpus Christi, the son of Leroy and Lucille True. He married Joyce Ann Meier in 1968. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Michael True of Fredericksburg, and a daughter, Heidi Georgi and her husband, Brian, of San Antonio.
Private services are planned by the family.
Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
Arrangements were by Fredericksburg Funeral Home.
