Jeannine Frost Obituary

Mary Jeannine Miller Frost, 92, of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away peacefully on Dec. 16, 2022 surrounded by her daughters.

She was born in Houston, Texas, to Mildred Barras Owens and George H. Owens on Nov. 4, 1930. Jeannine attended Stephen F. Austin High School, was an honor student and a proud member of The Scottish Brigade Drill Team where she served as Lt. Colonel during her senior year. After graduation, she moved to Baytown, Texas with her Mother and Stepfather, Wilton Roper.

While attending college, she met and later married her husband of 47 years, Taylor Miller. Their life together began in San Antonio, then a move to California while Taylor was in the Air Force. Their first daughter, Denise, was born during their time there.

After returning to Baytown, their second daughter, Melissa, was born. They were very active in all of their daughters' activities throughout their school years and became longtime members of Trinity Episcopal Church where Jeannine served on the Altar Guild and as Junior Choir Mother for 15 years. She also served as an Interim Girl Scout Leader and was a member of The Garden Club.

When Taylor retired in the late 1980's, their love affair with Fredericksburg began. She and Taylor immediately joined St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and made friends they kept for the rest of their lives. Jeannine enjoyed ushering, was a member of The Library Guild and later joined The Daughters of The King. She was a regular helper at the Sunday Community Dinners until it had to close due to COVID.

Taylor preceded Jeannine in death on Jan. 14, 1998. She later married Richard Frost of Fredericksburg, Texas. They especially enjoyed traveling to the coast, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Colorado. Richard also preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2009.

Jeannine loved life to the fullest and all of the people whom she felt blessed to have in hers. She is survived by her daughters, Denise Gruy of Spicewood, Texas, and Melissa Miller of Fredericksburg, Texas; stepdaughter, Christi Frost Henderson and husband, Bob Henderson of Georgetown, Texas; sister-in-law, Charleen Miller of Tomball, Texas, and nieces, Cindy Mueller, Patti Zerwas, Joni Miller and Amy Miller of Tomball, Texas.

Burial Service to be held at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 601 W. Creek St., Fredericksburg, Texas on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023 at 3 p.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
