Daniel Currie Obituary
Las Vegas - Daniel G. Currie, 82, passed away in Las Vegas, NV September 11, 2017 of natural causes.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Rd Warren MI. Saturday 12/9 at 11:00 AM.
Visitation Friday 12/8 from 3-9 PM, Temrowski Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road Warren, MI 48093.
Dan was born in Detroit MI in June of 1935, the son of Arthur M Currie and Bernice Sulecki. He is predeceased by his parents and brothers Arthur, Walter Miles and Michael.
Dan graduated from St Anthony HS and then graduated from Michigan State University becoming an All American Football player. His athletic career took him to the Green Bay Packers for 6 years as an All Pro player and member of 2 NFL Championship teams. He finished his playing career with the Los Angeles Rams. Dan spent his later life in Las Vegas working as a security agent for many years at the Stardust Casino.
Dan married the late Mary K. Rivard in 1956. He is survived by his children Jane (Todd) Bunzeluk, Tom (Mary) Currie, Matt (Cheryl) Currie, Diane Shomper, Catherine (Nick) Stanziola, 13 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. He is predeceased by his daughter Julie Anne Currie.

I worked with Dan at the Stardust Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas Nevada. What a fantastic person he was. Incredibly friendly and well loved by many co-workers. I can still hear his voice. Quite an honor to know him.
