James Bonsall Obituary
James J. Bonsall, Jr., age 67 of Bloomfield Hills, passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2020 in the presence of his family. Jim was the beloved husband of 44 years to Sharon. Loving father of Jamie Bonsall (Kim). Dear grandfather of Sylvie, Willa, Trixie, and Romy. Brother of Laura Wilcox, Amber Fabbri (Joe), Linda Perkey (Dan), Russ Bonsall (Denise), Ron Bonsall (Suzanne), Robert Bonsall (Lori), Lawrence "Kurt" Bonsall. Uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Jim graduated from Michigan State University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. He worked with Ernst & Young in Detroit from 1978-1995, including as Partner from 1989. He joined AlixPartners in 1996 and worked there as a turnaround executive until his retirement in 2012. During his years at AlixPartners, Jim served multinational public and privately owned companies throughout North America, Europe, The Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South America. Jim's passion was collecting and restoring classic cars. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021, 11am at First United Methodist Church of Birmingham, 1589 W. Maple Rd.
