I first met Dr Madgy when he was referred by children's cf clinic . My daughter was 5 or 6 and was having cf related sinus issues. What a wonderful person and Dr he was. He did 5 sinus surgeries on her for nasal polyps over the years. She's 21 now and we still talk about him and his bedside manner. He's truly missed

If it weren´t for this amazing man I would probably be deaf. When I was 5 I started seeing him because my teacher said I was reading her lips and surely enough I could barely hear. After multiple surgeries I have most of my hearing back . I found out shortly after he had passed and it broke my heart he was the only person I trusted to do anything with my ears and he never failed to make me smile. Now today I´m 21 with hearing aids and not a day goes by I don´t think about how grateful I am that I had him as a doctor and had such an amazing bond with him. I miss you and thank you for everything you did

just got this tattoo in honor of doctor Madgy, I can´t express how much he meant to not only my life but to every patient he came into contact with. If it wasn´t for him, I would have lost hearing in both of my ears when I came out of the womb but he was with me and my family every step of the way. He was an amazing human being who brought so many smiles and laughter to his patients. I hope his family sees this and sees how wonderful of a man he was!

If it wasnt for Doctor Madgy, I would surely be deaf. I saw Doctor Madgy on a regular basis from ages 4 to 15. I had countless appointments that brought a variety of issues. Every appointment, this man made feel comfortable and in his own way, assured me that I would be ok in the end. I had multiple surgeries with this man and multiple sets of tubes in both ears. I honestly cannot think of a more kindler, gentler soul then Davids. I moved back to the local area about a year and a half ago and learned of his passing. I was at a lost and still am. David, if you are somehow reading this from up above, please know I never forgot the countless hours you worked on me to assure my overall well being. You left a MONUMENTAL impact on my life and i am truly forever thankful that god allowed our paths to cross. I wish I would visited you before your passing. Thank you for everything that you did for me. Thank you will never be enough but just know I never forgot all that you did for me. To the Madgy family, please know this man touched so many lives and left an incredible impact. This man will never be forgotten.

I was just telling my daughter about you. My favorite Doctor growing up. You first met me when you were just a resident and I was a newborn. And cared for me all thru my childhood and teen years. Thank you for being such an amazing doctor and human. You left an imprint on so many.

I was just thinking about Dr M the other day. I´m so saddened to read this.
I worked with David during his residency at Oakland General Hospital. He was such a kind, caring, a would help anyone kind of guy. Whenever he was on call it was a relief. He was never angered when he received call after call and as exhausted as he was, he still came into the hospital with a smile and helpfulness.
I will always keep his family in my prayers and thoughts. I´m so very sorry for your loss. Be at peace knowing you had the best dad a child could ever ask for.

I'm in shock. I was a patient of Dr. Madgy from 5 years old to 21 when I had my 13th and last surgery on my ears. I am 38 years old now and having an issue with my ear and knew Dr. Madgy could fix it. I am heart broken to have found this when looking up his number. I sat in his waiting room countless times and watched the room change around me. Even at 21, he never made me feel "too old" to be there. I remember when he told me about the birth of his triplets and how proud he was. I loved seeing pictures of them growing. My heart breaks for the family. He is thought of often by myself and how he saved my hearing, I will be forever grateful.

Still cannot believe Dr. Madgy is gone. It is sometimes hard to understand how good, caring, and loving people are taken from us. Dr. Madgy was truly a remarkable doctor. Is kindness and genuine love towards his patients was undeniable. I don't know know what we would of done without this man in our lives. We came to him with our 2 year old Tina, just finding out she had a profound to sever hearing loss. We were so devastated, and he made us feel like we were his only patient. We will never forget him. I found out about Dr. Madgy's passing while looking up the phone number to call his office for an appointment....so sad to see this! Dr. Madgy was a talented and caring physician; he took amazing care of 2 of my children over the years and we will always remember his humor and his way of making everyone feel comfortable. May God bless him and all his loved ones and I hope they will take comfort in the fact that so many people appreciated him over the years.

After attending children's hospitals memorial service for children that has recently passed away I discovered that Dr. Madgy is no longer with us. As I was remembering all of the good times with my daughter at children's hospital dr. Madgy was apart of some of those precious moments. He was always funny he lit up the room and made my family feel that he was there for anything we needed. One of the nicest people and so professional. From out family to yours , thank you for sharing your time with so many families. He was awesome. He loved our children, and we loved him.

I am so sad to hear of Dr. Madgy,s passing today as I called to make my sons annual check up. He will be 16 he has been seeing Dr. Madgy almost since birth. He was a very kind fun loving and great Dr to the kids who saw him. My son loved seeing him, he has been a big part if our life for many years. My son is bilateral hearing impaired since birth and Dr Madgy has been a great friend and Dr. For near 16 years . He will be truly missed, my thought and prayers to his family.

So sad to find out today about his passing. I went to make an appointment for my daughter and sad to not be able to. He was so kind and gently with my daughter when she had to have her tonsils and adenoids out at 22 months. I felt a tremendous since of relief and confidence as I walked with him into the OR at Children's for her surgery and afterwards how he came and took his time talking with us in the waiting room. Thank you Dr. Madgy for all that you did. You will surely be missed.

David Madgy was the first boy that I ever kissed at Camp Tamarack. And he was a well-mannered gentleman even at age thirteen.

I hadn't thought to look him up online, but did so several days ago. I was saddened to hear about his recent passing. I just wanted to offer my sincere condolences to his family.

Sorry to hear of the your loss of Dr. Madgy. He was a great ENT. He was able to get My Daughter Maryann to talk to him, when she didn't like to talk to new people. He got her to open up, and helped her with her hearing problems. She lives him so much, and is heart broken over losing him.

My son is now 18 years old but met Dr. Madgy when he was about 9 months old. My son has achondroplasia dwarfism and it has always been difficult to find doctors with knowledge or willing to learn about the differences in their anatomy. I want your family to know that Dr. Madgy gained my confidence immediately. As the the picky mom of a special needs kiddo, that is not easy. He treated my son with nothing but respect. I handed my fragile infant son over to him as they walked to operating room many times through multiple sets of ear tubes and tonsil removal and ear drum repair. my son was born in Michigan but when he was 5 we moved to Findlay, Ohio. We tried several local ENTs but ended up returning to your DR. Madgy's care even though it was over 2 hours to drive. I dreaded the day my son would "age out" of his practice, but Dr. Madgy reassured me that he would see My son for years to come. In December, when the office called to reschedule my son's follow up I tried to push the appointment as far forward so that we would still see Dr. Madgy but they gave us no indication of his return. We saw Dr. Haupert for a hearing test and he told us that due to my son being an adult, it was time to seek and adult ENT practice. This news brought me great sadness. Now the time has come and we will move on. It will be difficult to match his skill with little ears. Dr. Madgy's bedside manner was always compassionate and confident but never cocky. Our prayers and thoughts are with you as we say good bye to Dr. Madgy, the doctor who had a whole stash of suckers in the secret bottom drawer of the medical cabinet.

I was a scared mother of a two year old when I was told she had a severe to profound hearing loss. Dr Madgy was our angel. He put tubes in her ears, prescribed her first set of hearing aids and took out her tonsils. I will never forget how upset we were to hear she had to wear hearing aids. Dr Madgy looked at me and said mom everything is going to be okay and it was. What a lovely man and magnificent dr, you will be truly missed
