GILBERT Beloved husband of Lila Silverman; cherished father of Marsha (Tom Brunelle) Silverman Brunelle, Wendy Silverman (Mitch Master), Gilbert "Buzz" Silverman, Eric (Svetlana) Silverman, Paul (Jennifer) Silverman; loving Papa of Cynthia (Chris) Cifrano, Jessica Silverman, Lesley Silverman and Michael Silverman, Katerine Silverman, Aleksia Silverman, Eliana Silverman, Nathan Silverman and Levi Silverman. Also survived by former daughter-in-law Jan Silverman. Proud brother of the late Judith Herschman and the late Miriam "Mimi" Alspector. SERVICES 11:00 A.M. Gil was a devoted friend to all of us at Artpack, his support and challenges enabled us to become the company we are - Gil loved art and artists and we will miss his energy and expansiveness that was an inspiration. Our thoughts are with the family at this time of loss.

There aren't enough words for me to describe my friend, Gil! That being said, he was a man of profound integrity, extreme generosity, a man of diverse "cultural tastes", and supporter of the arts.
Many will remember him from his "sponsorship" of young artists at the Cranbrook Academy of the Arts, to his collection of "Folk Art".
Personally, I will never forget his reaction when I hung my coat on a "rack" on his office wall. THAT RACK TURNED OUT TO BE PART OF HIS ART COLLECTION. Let's just say he reacted as only Gil could, but ever gracious, and understanding.
So many of us will miss his mentoring, I certainly will. He is the kind of person we should all be measured by.
To his friends and family: May your fondest memories of Gil, help you sustain your loss.
