Michael Zelenak Obituary
MICHAEL age 75 of Macomb, passed away on June 13, 2016. Michael was an assistant music professor at Wayne State University for 30 years. He knew how to play every instrument you could possibly think of and played in numerous bands. Loving husband of Victoria; cherished father of Andrew (Tori) Zelenak, James Zelenak, Mary (Bart) Frontera and Ann Marie (Bob) Hitzelberger; dear brother of James (Carrie) Zelenak, Dorothy (Joe) McMahon, Margie (Bob) McConnell, Patsy (Ron) Wienckowski, Susie Wiley, Joann (Carl) Pierskalla and Rita (Mike) Walendzik; proud grandfather of Becca, Colton, James, Alex, Sonny, Mikey, Lily, Nathan, Leah, Ben, Charlie, Lucie and Mickey. Michael is predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary, and his sister MaryAnn Yerkovich. He is also survived by many extended loved ones and friends. Visitation at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home, 46530 Romeo Plank, Macomb (s. of 21 Mile) on Friday, June 17 from 2-8 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Ronald Catholic Church on Saturday, June 18 at 10:30 a.m. with instate at 10 a.m.

Mike was a talented man who influenced many students. I have numerous memories of him while a student at Wayne. He leaves a great legacy and will be sorely missed. God Bless You Mike.

We enjoyed very much his music especially him and his group playing at many Fisher Body functions . My wife Joyce and I had him play at our 50th wedding anniversary it was very well received by all in attendance . May God bless and keep him.....Don Nowosiadly

Please let me offer my condolences to the Zelenak family. Mike was my first percussion instructor at WSU and my friend. He has been with me throughout my career as a band director for any assistance needed. Mike was a good man who will be missed.

We extend our sincere condolences to his wife, Victoria and family. We lost touch over the yrs, but remember him from our Cyrilite days. If we listen carefully, we can hear him play his music for all in heaven! Rest in peace, Mike.
