When I got up this morning I was puzzled by the vivid dream I had last night....included me on a lake watching Bob Lee go by on his big sailboat. I hadn't thought of him in probably 30 years, but remember him building a large ferro-cement sailboat with my dad, Adam, and buddy Gerry Folgman. I remember being in my 20's (50 years ago!) and listening to the three of them excitedly talk about design details, with Dad being primarily responsible for the interior woodwork. Bob always seemed to have a smile on his face and his enthusiasm was contagious. He wrote each of my siblings and me a heartwarming letter about my dad when he passed away, and that gesture was appreciated more than he'll ever know. God bless you Bob!!

Very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was an inspiring person to me with respect to all he tackled in life. I have fond memories of him hearing about building his sailboat as well as sailing it, his views on jazz, politics, and many aspects of life for that matter. I shared a few jazz cassette tapes with him to introduce some newer jazz groups to him. I remember he came with my folks to hear me perform with the Michigan Tech Jazz Lab Band. I was so impressed he came to the concert and enjoyed hearing his take on our band. He was also very thoughtful and had a memorial bell created in memory of my grandfather Leo Sedwick, who used to school us all on the pool table. In retrospect, I’d have to say Bob lived “large” having the fortitude and courage to take on big projects in life. Very admirable and influential for me. With sympathy to Carrie, Jody, and the Lee family, Mike Leese

We are so sorry to hear about Bob's passing. He was a great friend of my dads and our entire family. Jazz, pool, and intense dicusssions were their favorite things to do. My first time on a sail boat was with Bob and our two families enjoyed weekends at the Betty Rex home on Lake St. Clair when we were young. When my dad passed eight years ago, we found boxes of jazz tapes made for him by Bob. We send our prayers and deepest sympathy to Carrie, Jody and the entire Lee family. Hugs, Abbie Leese Holden

Love to the Lee family. My dad Gerry Folgmann and Bob were friends. I was lucky enough to take a trip on the Desiderata. My dad and uncle Bill took a trip up the coast with him too. I’m sure they’re talking boats now, like I remember them in my parents kitchen.
