Wayne Shepherd Obituary
Troy, MI - Passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the age of 87. Beloved son to the late Walter Ode Shepherd and Leona Grace (Smith) Shepherd born and raised in Pontiac Michigan. He was a graduate of General Motors Institute of Technology in 1955. He is proceeded in death by his lovely wife Carol Jean (Cheetham) Shepherd whom he was married to for 62 years. Wayne had a long career with General Motors as a Mechanical Engineer and was highly respected for his problem-solving abilities. He retired in June, 2000. He enjoyed traveling, camping, sailing and sunsets.
His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his two daughters, Diane (husband David) Knapp, Susan (husband Scott ) Kroening, one son David (wife Amy) Shepherd and grandchildren Melanie Glover, Samantha (Glover) Chadwick, Luke Shepherd, Leah Shepherd, and Ethan Knapp.
Visitation will be held at Wujek - Calcaterra & Sons, 36900 Schoenherr Rd in Sterling Heights, Thursday June 10th from 9-11am. Funeral services will follow. Everyone is welcomed.
Memorial Contributions are appreciated to the Veterans Association of America. Interment White Chapel Cemetery. Please share memories with the family at their "On-Line Guest Book" @ WujekCalcaterra.com.
