Charles W. "Chuck" Schollmeyer, 27, of Ord, formerly of Fremont, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Good Samaritan Center in Kearney.
He was born April 5, 1983, in Battle Creek, Mich. He moved to Valley as a child and lived there for several years prior to moving to Fremont. He attended Fremont High School. He had been residing at Ord for the past two years and was employed as a carpenter for Bull Dog Construction.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fremont. He enjoyed fishing, athletics and spending time with his kids.
Survivors include: his parents, Hank and Amy Schollmeyer of Fremont; sons, Chance and Zane Schollmeyer of Albany, N.Y.; two brothers, Kelly (and wife, Almyra) Schollmeyer of Holdrege and Adam Schollmeyer of Fremont; four sisters, Tasha Schollmeyer of Elwood, Jessica, Emily and Megan Schollmeyer, all of Fremont; grandparents, Helen Schollmeyer of Cedar Bluffs and Donald and Margie Pool of Fremont; special friend, Erin Sich of Ord; and birth mother, Leasa Holton of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by grandfather, Wayne Schollmeyer.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Fremont with the Revs. David Bender and Leland Foreman officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, south of Cedar Bluffs.
