G. Burney Stovall, 87, of Midland, Texas, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008.
He was born Oct. 7, 1920, to David and Mattie Stovall. He attended Rosebud High School and business schools. He worked as a manager for Hughes Tools in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and Texas.
He met his wife, Myrtle Schwab, in Midland via telephone, and the couple married Aug. 15, 1958, in San Antonio. They moved to New Mexico where he was manager for Hughes and Myrtle taught at Hobbs High School for five years. From there, the couple went to Denver where he was district manager and his wife taught in Littleton High School. Midland became their permanent residence in the 1970s where he retired.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
The funeral was held July 17 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Texas. A double graveside service for he and his wife will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Hooper Cemetery. The Rev. Joel Schroeder of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper will officiate.
The family requests memorials be directed to Hospice Midland, P.O. Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702.
