Jack Golder, 73, of Hooper, died Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha
He was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Uehling, to Walter and Genevieve (Tabler) Golder. He was raised in the Scribner area and graduated from Scribner High School in 1955. After high school, Jack went into the U.S. Army and served from 1955 until 1958. After his military service, Jack returned to Scribner and worked for Twehous Brothers Garage. He then worked for Grant Chevrolet in Fremont before going to Hooper and starting Jack's Automotive Machine in 1966. He married Donna Dorfmeyer on Aug. 19, 1960. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Hooper, and was a former member of the Hooper City Council and the Lions Club.
Survivors include: wife, Donna, of Hooper; daughter, Carolyn (and husband, Bob) Scrimsher of Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Chandra Golder of Fremont; one grandson; mother, Genevieve Golder of Fremont; sisters, Janice Wulf of Fremont, and Jean Ann and husband, Gerald) Roemer of Hooper.
He was preceded in death by his father and a son.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. The Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Hooper Cemetery.
Memorials will be determined at a later date.
