Jeanine A. Riggs
March 14th, 1932 - July 6, 2024
Jeanine A. Riggs, age 92, of Fremont.
She was calm and sleeping when she left us on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont.
She was born Jeanine Agnus Ferguson March 14, 1932 in the rural Webster area of Nebraska to Alan and Helen 'Dunker' Ferguson. She married Wayne Riggs in 1950. Wayne and Jeanine were strong and active members of the Fremont Presbyterian Church. They farmed east of Fremont for the last 43 years and that farmstead was a great playground for all the children. They were very family oriented; together they herded a lot of farm animals and kids.
Jeanine is survived by children Kathleen (Jon) Schommer, Jayne (Mark) Riggs, Mary Riggs-Matteo, Karen Riggs-Kelly, and John (Shelly) Riggs. She is also survived by sister-in-law Lavonne Riggs-Erdan of Fremont, 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Jeanine was preceded in death by her husband Wayne in 2018, son Mark, grandson Matthew and son-in-law Tom Matteo.
Our mom will be celebrated at the Fremont Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM with lunch to follow. Burial beside Wayne will be at Pohocco Cemetery south of Fremont following the lunch. Memorials are suggested to Pohocco.
A wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. We'll miss you mom.
