The funeral for Jeanne Marks, 88, of Fremont will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont.
She died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at her home.
Jeanne M. Meunier was born Sept. 24, 1919, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to Wilfrid and Ernestine (Ethier) Meunier. She moved to the United States when she was 26 years old. She met her husband, Frank, in Edmonton while he was serving in the Army Air Corps. She married Frank Marks on June 2, 1945, in Great Falls, Mont.; he died May 16, 1995. They lived in Great Falls until her husband was assigned to Offutt Air Base in Bellevue, then they lived in Omaha. They moved to Lincoln in 1966. She later returned to Omaha in 1996 and lived at New Cassell Retirement Center until moving to Fremont in 2002.
Survivors include: a son, Wilfred F. Marks and special friend and former wife, Carol, of Lincoln; four daughters, M. Silvia (Mrs. Tim) Hanrahan of Florida and Indiana; M. Jeannine (Mrs. David) Lierman of Hooper; Mary Lynn (Mrs. Mark) Stratton of East Wareham, Mass., and Lucille (Mrs. Valentine) Anan of Washington, D.C.; her twin sister, Jeannette Gaboury of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; a sister-in-law, Marguerite Meunier of Canada; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
The Rev. Eric Olsen will officiate Monday's service. Visitation will be 2:30-7 p.m. Sunday, with a rosary being said at 3 p.m., at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation also will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. A luncheon will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church immediately following the funeral. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln with the Rev. Lyle Johnson of St. John's Catholic Church in Lincoln officiating. Memorials may be made to the St. Patrick's Catholic Elementary School Fund.
