Jesse Barton Obituary

Jesse Ray Barton, 36, of Fremont, Nebraska, passed away on September 26, 2025, at his parents' home in Tekamah, Nebraska. He was born in Omaha on February 22, 1989, to Richard D. Barton and Rebecca Bennett Bouchard.

Jesse lived life on his own terms and embraced a free-spirited, nomadic lifestyle. He had a deep love for music, often turning to it as a source of peace and healing. He also had a passion for food and proudly called himself a "foodie." From cheeseburgers to nachos, Jesse never met a meal he didn't like-but nothing compared to his father's Hot Rice, which he requested upon arriving in Tekamah. Jesse was also quite the Math Whiz and loved the History Channel.

Above all, Jesse cherished his friends and family. His life, though far too short, in the end was filled with joy, laughter, and love that will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his parents, Richard and Janelle Barton of Tekamah, NE, and Christopher Bouchard of Saugerties, NY; his sisters, Gracelyn Barton of Tekamah, NE, and Arizona Bouchard of Saugerties, NY; his brothers, Christopher Bouchard of Saugerties, NY, Joshua (Ann) Bacon and Jayson (Jessica Graef) Bacon of Tekamah, NE, and Joel (Heather) Bacon of Hickman, TN; Aunt, Jodi Barton of Fremont and his Grandmother, Barbara Rogers of Fremont, NE who he loved so deeply. He will also be remembered by many dear friends and extended family.

Jesse was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Bouchard; his Grandfathers, Larry Barton and Marlin Rogers; and his beloved uncle, Glen Barton.

Jesse's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all who cared for him throughout the last few years. A special thank you is given to the teams at DaVita Dialysis Center, Fremont Methodist Hospital & Health System, Good Neighbor Community Health, among many others. And to the friends he resided with and who were by his side your kindness & compassion was not lost on us. Words cannot fully express how thankful we are.

An open house Celebration of Jesse's life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Fremont Nazarene Church, Shaw Ministry Center, 960 Johnson Road, Fremont, NE. In honor of Jesse, the family asks that donations be made to a local food pantry in your community or to the family for a future designation.

Jesse always made sure to make you smile no matter what. I wasn't close to him in the end but he was one person that would always answer when you called. I am so sorry for your loss.

My condolences. Jesse dated my niece back in high school. He was always pleasant, nice. Fun to be around. Very smart kid. Life is short and never fair
